Terms of use

RP Forge is early, still-evolving software. By creating an account or using the app you agree to the points below. They are written plainly on purpose.

As-is

The app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Features may change, break, or disappear. We may pause the service, reset accounts, or delete characters, worlds, scenes, and other data at any time while the app is still finding its feet, including a full reset before a major change. Please keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password safe. Please don’t share your login. You must be old enough to consent to data processing where you live: at least 16 in much of the EU and UK, 13 elsewhere. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we will remove it.

What you create

You keep ownership of the characters, worlds, and writing you create. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service: to store your work, show it where you have chosen (private, unlisted, or listed), and send it to the Arbiter and the other AI features as described in the privacy notice. That permission ends when you delete the work, except for copies already part of a shared scene, which stay in that scene for the other writers in it.

Community rules

RP Forge is for character-craft writing, and some of that writing is dark. Mature themes — violence, cruelty, grief, morally difficult subject matter — are part of fiction and are welcome here. What is not welcome is content that harms real people or crosses hard lines. You agree not to create, upload, or play:

  • anything that sexualizes minors, real or fictional — including characters written or implied to be under 18. This is a zero-tolerance line and we report where the law requires.
  • sexually explicit or pornographic content. Fade-to-black and mature themes are fine; graphic sexual content is not.
  • real people’s private information, or sexual content depicting real, identifiable people.
  • content that harasses, threatens, or incites hatred or violence against real people or groups.
  • content that promotes self-harm, terrorism, or serious illegal activity.
  • material you don’t have the right to use, or that infringes someone’s copyright or trademark.
  • malware, spam, or attempts to break, overload, or probe the service.

RP Forge also runs on third-party AI providers (Anthropic for the Arbiter, and a separate provider for solo-opponent lines), and their usage policies apply to anything they process. The AI will refuse or block some requests on its own; that is expected, not a bug.

Playing with other writers

A parley is something both sides agree to. Another writer asks after your character, you accept or decline, and either side can stop. Treat the people you write with the way you would want to be treated: no harassment, no using a shared scene to target or pressure someone. If you leave your character’s door open, the Arbiter may seat a copy of it in someone else’s scene so they have somebody to write against. That copy is flat and disposable: it never drifts your real sheet, and the finished page only reaches you if the other writer asks you to read it.

Reporting and moderation

If you see content or behaviour that breaks these rules, email info@trpforge.app and tell us what and where. We don’t review everything in advance, and we can’t promise to catch everything — but we may review content when there is a reason to, and we can remove anything that breaks these terms, limit what an account can do, or suspend or close an account, with or without notice. Enforcement is a judgement call, not a guarantee, and being able to moderate does not make us responsible for what writers post.

Copyright and other people’s work

RP Forge hosts what its writers make. Characters here are meant to be your own original work; a “fandom” tag is a label for finding like-minded writers, not a licence to reproduce someone’s canon, and the app ships no one’s copyrighted world as its own. You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload.

If you believe something on RP Forge infringes your copyright, email info@trpforge.app with enough detail to find it (a link), a description of the work you say it copies, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn’t authorised. We remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

The Arbiter and AI output

Rulings, drift, trait suggestions, and scene setup come from an automated system (the Arbiter). It can be wrong, inconsistent, or surprising. Treat its output as part of a collaborative writing game, not as fact, advice, or a final authority. It reads what you write in order to rule on it; it does not write your character’s lines for you. AI-generated text isn’t guaranteed to be original or accurate, and you are responsible for how you use it.

Using the service fairly

Use RP Forge as a person playing it, not a program mining it. Don’t scrape the site, automate access beyond normal play, reverse-engineer it, work around rate limits or access controls, or use it to build a competing dataset or model. RP Forge is free for now and there is nothing to pay, but the Arbiter costs real money to run, so each account has a daily usage allowance, and we may rate-limit, suspend, or pause accounts that go well beyond normal play. There will likely be a paid plan in future; nothing here commits you to one.

No warranty, and limits on liability

RP Forge is offered as-is and as-available, with no promise that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any content is safe or accurate. You use it at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, for lost data or work, or for what other writers or the AI produce. Nothing here limits anything that can’t be limited by law, and if the law where you live gives you rights that can’t be waived, those still apply.

Your content is your responsibility

You are responsible for what you create and share on RP Forge. If your content or your use of the service breaks these terms or the law and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows.

Ending use

You can stop using RP Forge at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the privacy notice. We may suspend or end access that abuses the service or these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. When we do, we’ll update the date at the bottom of the page, and for anything significant we’ll try to give notice in the app. Continuing to use RP Forge after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Who runs RP Forge

RP Forge is currently run by an individual, reachable at info@trpforge.app. While it is early we’re deliberately not naming a specific governing law or court; a full governing-law and dispute clause, and the company behind it, are on the list as RP Forge grows. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
