Briany watches the approach telemetry without speaking for a moment. The destination pad appears ahead—narrower than standard, with a tight approach corridor. “Pad’s smaller than it looks from the station. Last person who used it clipped a strut. Don’t rush the final.”
Gigi Thompson
Gigi’s jaw tightens for half a second, then she nods. “Understood.” She bleeds speed early, nose slightly high, and begins the landing sequence she studied. The ship settles into the corridor. “Engaging auto-trim. Manual on the final.”
Briany Anders
The pad grows larger in the canopy. Briany’s hand rests near the override but doesn’t touch it. “You’re a little hot on the vertical. Easy on the thrusters.”
Gigi Thompson
Gigi corrects—small, deliberate inputs. The Silverplume drops the last few meters and touches down with a solid, centered thump. No scrape. No drift. She powers down the mains and sits still for a beat. “Pad 02. We’re down.”
Briany Anders
Briany studies the damage readout. Zero. She looks at Gigi, expression unreadable. “Clean enough. You didn’t force it.” She unstraps. “That’s what I needed to see. Taxi us back to the hangar.”
