Gorla Ambershield
The Salty Sailor was loud and smelled like fish and rum, and Gorla didn't care about either. She came up the inn stairs two at a time with mud to her knees, saw the tauren in the corner with all the wee pouches hanging off her belt, and walked right up to her table before she could talk herself out of it.
"Right, I know. I know, I know. Wrong side of the war an' all that." She said it in Common, then tried again slower with her hands, pointing back toward the docks. "Bear. My bear. Raptor got him on the road. Bleedin'. The goblin downstairs wants three gold to look at him and I've got about forty silver an' a very good rifle I'm not sellin'."
She stopped, out of breath, and added, more quietly, "Please. He's a good bear."
((Language loose as promised, she's mostly miming lol))
Anuk Ridgewalker
Anuk did not understand most of the words. She understood bear, because the dwarf had made claws with her hands. And she understood please, because that one is the same in every language.
She stood up. She was much taller than the dwarf.
"Show me," she said in Taur-ahe. Then she pointed at the door, so it was clear.
Gorla Ambershield
Gorla nearly fell down the stairs leading the way. Biscuit was lying on the boards of the dock just outside, in the shade of a crate stack, with his head on his paws and a nasty long gash down his shoulder where the raptor had caught him. He'd stopped growling at the goblins walking past, which was how she knew it was bad.
She dropped down on her knees by his head and scratched behind his ears. "There's me lad. This is... a friend. She's goin' to help. Don't bite her, she's bigger than you." Biscuit's ears went back a bit when he saw the tauren, but he didn't move. Gorla looked up at Anuk, hopeful and trying very hard not to look it. (She was not good at that.)
Anuk Ridgewalker
Anuk knelt. Slowly, so the bear could see her hands. She let him smell her fingers first. He huffed and she waited.
Then she looked at the shoulder. It was deep but clean, and it had mostly stopped bleeding. A raptor claw, not teeth. That was lucky.
She took a small pot from one pouch and a roll of cloth from another. She said a few soft words, not to Gorla, to the bear. A green light came up under her palm and she held it over the cut for a long breath. The edges pulled in a little. Not all the way. She was tired from a long road too.
Gorla Ambershield
Gorla had seen priests do it in Ironforge plenty of times, but somehow it was different watching it done to Biscuit by a great big cow lady in a dock in the middle of goblin town. She kept very still and kept scratching his ears and didn't say anything, which anybody who knew her would have told you was some kind of miracle.
When the light faded Biscuit let out a long grumbly sigh and put his head back down, and Gorla let out one right along with him.
"Oh, ye beauty," she said, and it wasn't clear if she meant the bear or the tauren. Probably both.
Anuk Ridgewalker
Anuk opened the pot. It smelled green and bitter, like earthroot. She packed it into the cut with two fingers and wrapped the shoulder in cloth, around and under the leg, and tied it off. Biscuit did not like it. He also did not bite her.
She sat back on her heels and held up one finger, then made a walking motion with two fingers on the dock boards, and shook her head.
One day. No walking. She hoped that was clear.
Gorla Ambershield
"One day, no walkin'. Aye. Aye, I've got it." Gorla nodded hard enough that her braids bounced. She dug in her belt pouch and came up with the forty silver, the whole lot, and held it out on her palm.
"It's not three gold," she said, "but it's everythin' I've got that isn't me rifle. An' ye can't have me rifle."
((Gorla's genuinely grateful but also absolutely would not give up the rifle lol))
Anuk Ridgewalker
Anuk looked at the silver. Then she reached out and took four coins off the top, and closed the dwarf's fingers back over the rest.
"For the cloth," she said, which Gorla would not understand, so she tapped the bandage on Biscuit's shoulder.
Then she got up, brushed off her knees, and went back up the stairs to finish her soup before it got cold. On the way past she put one hand on the bear's head, very lightly. He let her.

Healing at Booty Bay
Gorla approached Anuk at the Salty Sailor seeking help for Biscuit, her bear wounded by a raptor. Unable to afford the goblin healer's price, she offered what silver she had. Anuk examined the injury, used magic to partially close the wound, and dressed it with cloth and herbal salve, instructing that Biscuit needed a full day of rest. When Gorla offered all forty silver pieces in payment, Anuk took only four coins for the materials and returned the rest, then departed to her meal.
