Aeloriaey Vaelshira
Aeloriaey sits hunched at her table, focusing on her drink and her hands, paying no mind to the outside world
Merrit Hale
merrit came over from the door. chainmail, stormwind tabard gone a little faded. he set a mug of water down by her elbow without asking.
"kitchen closes soon. you want food, say so now."
he didn't sit. glanced at the window, then back at her hands.
"nobody bothers you at this table. it's the one i can see from the door."
Aeloriaey Vaelshira
She looks up at the man "I thought you said nobody bothers you at this table..."
Merrit Hale
one corner of his mouth moved. not quite a smile.
"said nobody else."
he nudged the water an inch closer to her. "drink that first. you look like you've been on the road a while."
a beat.
"where from."
Aeloriaey Vaelshira
She grasps the glass "Hollowfall."
Merrit Hale
merrit thought about it. twelve years on a city gate, he'd heard most names.
"don't know it."
he didn't make it sound like a problem.
"long way, then." his eyes went to the window, the dark road past it, then back to her. "anybody follow you from there?"

The Armored Keeper's Table
Aeloriaey sat alone at a window table in an inn, focused on her drink. Merrit, an armored man working the kitchen, brought her water and mentioned the table was positioned where he could watch the door. When Aeloriaey noted the irony of his approach, he clarified he meant no one else would bother her there. He urged her to drink and asked where she had traveled from. She answered Hollowfall, a place Merrit did not recognize. He observed she had been on the road long and asked if anyone had followed her from there.
